Good evening! I hope this post finds you all well. Currently, I’m waiting to hear back from three agents whom I’ve queried as well as an indie publishing house. Keep your fingers crossed! Two recent rejections and one in the very beginning (if you remember my first post). I’m currently working on a huge rewrite of Mystic Waters. I’ve had my high school AP English teacher read and she’s offered some amazing notes. So, writers, contact your English teachers! 😉
On New Year’s Day, something happened. And it changed the course of Liza’s story for the better. There are things you will never be able to understand. Being deployed gives you a fresh perspective on life. It also brings forth the thought of mortality. But on this day, I was walking, with my weapon slung and my head down. The sky was overcast and I can remember the surreal feeling of being in this…bubble. It was only then that I realized this was a major moment. As I walked, ideas came to me and I could picture Liza perfectly. Of course, these ideas will be working toward Chasing the Tide, but it was still quite an exciting and eye opening moment.
While I have been having these major ideas of bringing my military experiences somewhat into the story, I have a hard time actually sitting down and doing this. Think of an angel on one shoulder and a demon on the other. On one hand, I can sit down, execute and it end up brilliant! On the other, I could attempt to write this and it be complete shit. But I’ve decided that as soon as I post this, I’ll dive right in (pun so intended).

All my love,
