Greetings from Afghanistan! I hope this post finds everyone well.
Today, many family members will sit (or already have) and enjoy food that their mothers probably worked all day making just right. As we all know, that isn’t always the case. It is my hope that everyone enjoys this day! It’s meant to remind you how very fortunate you are! Each and every one of you.
I’d like to think that each day I understand how lucky I am. Yes, I said lucky. I may be in Afghanistan and missing my family but I have been given the most amazing blessing of having found writing again. Not only that, I’m blessed to have taken Liza’s story and ran with it, taking you all with me. So, I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to YOU! My book isn’t complete, yet you continue to read this blog, like my Facebook page (109 likes!), and follow me on Twitter! If that isn’t lucky, I have no clue what is.
Today I played football! It was a great experience; female Enlisted vs female Officers. So, yes, I played against my boss. But it was all in good fun. I hope everyone had fun in whatever family activities they engaged in!
Onto news about MYSTIC WATERS. I will be sending the manuscript back to Rosemi on the 1st of December! So, while the festivities were wonderful, its time to get back to work. Eyes on the prize, always!
“I was laying in the sand with my head on Edric’s chest, admiring his pruned
fingers. His steady heartbeat under my ear was a reassurance. His other hand
was playing in my hair and I thought to myself that I never wanted to leave.”
