Great Ideas

Last night I had this amazing idea (which I will not be sharing but when you read the book, hopefully you’ll think of the picture and it’ll click). What I want to talk about is, as writers, where do our ideas come from?

Where was Liza born? How did this whole other world come to be?
If I told you that Liza’s character came from a coloring page, would you believe me? Well, it’s true.

My point is, inspiration comes from any and everything. There is no one way to discover a great story. Sometimes its dreams, other times its real-life situations. So the remedy for an idea that you love but feel like you just can’t get it right? Keep writing! At some point you’re going to weed out all of the junk and like a diamond in the rough, there the story will lie.

Update: I’m currently on page 22 and hit 74,000 words. I find myself falling more and more in love with my manuscript. Hopefully you all will feel the same once you read it.

All my love,

I find that my ideas come from wanting to solve problems. I think of a problem and then run with solutions. The tougher the problem the better. I also do my best brain storming out loud, and thank God I have wife that likes to challenge my ideas and makes me think harder.
